The 2009 Regional Pycon for Texas will be held in the Dallas area in the September/October timeframe.

HOWDY!

Welcome to the Wiki site for the Python Unconference for the Texas Region. My name is Ralph Green and I've started to plan the event. We are still looking for our location. If you have any good idea, please let us know. This unconference is expected to be a FREE event for Pythoneers from all over the Texas region to gather and share experiences and developments. If we don't find sufficient sponsorship or a cheap location, then there may be a small charge.

The topics to be presented are purely up to the participants. One theme that has been suggested is the Python installer system. This includes how modules are added and removed from a Python setup and advanced techniques, such as virtualenv.

The plan for this year is to have a conference with three main components

  • Speakers to talk about Python topics of interest on Saturday morning
  • A classic unconference for Saturday afternoon. See BarCamp
  • one or two sprints for Sunday

Following Robin's layout from 2007, the site layout under the home page I'm contemplating is as follows:

  • Schedule (Session schedules and who will present)
  • Registration (List of attendees)
  • Facility (info, LAN info, building rules, etc.)
  • LocalInfo (Dallas directions, local food and lodging for out of town folks)
  • Organizers (Volunteer duties and who will perform them)
  • and Discussion (for discussing aspects of this site and the unconf.)

Prior years

  • 2007 2007 Texas Pycon
  • 2008 2008 Texas Pycon
