We'll have the use of two auditoriums, each with a projector and internet access. One auditorium will be for the beginner's track, and the other will be for talks aimed at more experienced Pythonistas. Saturday will be for formal presentations in the morning and open space talks (scheduled at the last minute using sticky notes on a board; See BarCamp) scheduled for the afternoon. Sunday will have sprints and a PythonLab. Of course, we'll also have social get-togethers for meals at nearby restaurants.

Welcome to the Wiki site for the Python Unconference for the Texas Region. My name is Ralph Green and I've started to plan the event. We are still looking for our location. If you have any good idea, please let us know. This unconference is expected to be a FREE event for Pythoneers from all over the Texas region to gather and share experiences and developments. If we don't find sufficient sponsorship or a cheap location, then there may be a small charge.
A mailing list for announcements on this conference is available at: http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/texas
The topics to be presented are purely up to the participants. One theme that has been suggested is the Python installer system. This includes how modules are added and removed from a Python setup and advanced techniques, such as virtualenv.
The plan for this year is to have a conference with three main components
Following Robin's layout from 2007, the site layout under the home page I'm contemplating is as follows:

This tradition started in 2007 when the Houston Python user group hosted the gathering, and continued in 2008 when the Austin user group hosted the event. In 2009, we decided to name the event pyTexas, based on the naming conventions started at the successful pyArkansas and pyOhio events. (The name 'pycamp' was everyone's favorite in 2006 and 2007 but was easily confused with a commercial venture of the same name.)
